Our Story

Born from a simple belief that financial literacy shouldn't be a luxury reserved for the wealthy

Back in 2019, I was working late nights as a junior analyst at a major consulting firm in Sydney. What struck me wasn't the complexity of the work — it was how many smart, capable people felt completely lost when it came to understanding their own finances.

That's when the idea for Helios Path took shape. We moved to Canberra and started with a kitchen table, a laptop, and a conviction that financial analysis could be taught in plain English.

What Drives Us

Clear Communication

We believe financial concepts shouldn't require a dictionary. Every explanation we give could be understood by your neighbor, your teenager, or your grandmother. No jargon, no pretense — just clear thinking expressed clearly.

Practical Focus

Theory without application is just academic exercise. Everything we teach ties directly to real-world decisions you'll actually make — whether that's evaluating an investment, planning for retirement, or understanding your business's cash flow.

Independence Matters

We don't sell financial products or earn commissions. Our only agenda is helping you make better decisions with complete objectivity.

Questions Welcome

The best learning happens when you're genuinely curious. We encourage questions — especially the ones you think might be "stupid."

Long-term Thinking

Quick fixes and get-rich-quick schemes aren't our style. We focus on building understanding that serves you for decades.

Local Perspective

Australian tax law, superannuation, and market conditions shape everything we teach. Global principles, local application.

Meet the Team

We're not a massive corporation with layers of bureaucracy. We're a small team that believes personal attention and genuine expertise beat flashy marketing every time.

Michael Harrison

Principal Financial Analyst

After spending six years in corporate finance and seeing too many people intimidated by their own money decisions, Michael founded Helios Path to bridge that gap. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from ANU and completed his CFA charter in 2021.

What really drives him isn't the technical analysis — it's the moment when someone finally understands compound interest or grasps why diversification actually works.
